Noisy auxiliary water pump
 

I have a whining noise coming from my electric aux water pump.
I removed the HVAC panel and cleaned the air sampling fan,
It's whistle clean now. It's not the sampler fan

No question, it's the aux pump, I can listen to it then cycle cabin fan off and on.
It's a whiny pump.
No leakage, just noise. Anyone else hear this on the mighty X5?

Anyone else have this problem?
It's very annoying. I have a new pump, just need to do
a coolant change and swap it out.

with a lot of fanageling, I replaced the electric pump.
New one has a faint hum, but huge improvement from before.

I lost about 3/4 gallon coolant, so I replaced it with blue BMW
Coolant. When it warms up a little I will do a coolant drain, rinse
and refil.

Now I have an operating Pierburg electric pump, that is very serviceable
but a little noisy.
