Also, Intermediate levers often cause a shitty idle when cold. Cant remember how much they are. But, you would have the lever off when you do the valve stem seal.

If you have the space some peace and quiet it really isn't that bad. Valve Stem Seals seems very time consuming but once you get a rhythm going it goes by quick. That's almost never the case when we do it because we almost always are interrupted by something while we are doing it. All the aforementioned jobs are time consuming but to be honest I really like the way the N62 is put together and actually enjoy working on them. It is a tight fit in some of the vehicles it comes in but having it out makes it much nicer.

Put in new motor mounts when you put it back in. They're no fun to do otherwise.

Great thread, although it seams like we are replacing a lot!

I have a 2001 in which the 4.4i engine stopped. I bought a running 115k mile engine. The backing plate looks pretty thin. I want to mount this on my heavy duty engine stand. Does anyone have advice and/or pictures of mounting this on a stand? greatly appreciated so that I can start checking timing chain etc...

thank you.
