Is this fan squeal the hvac sampler fan I've read about?
 

Since the weather has gotten colder this noise had steadily gotten worse.

Hoping it's the simple sampler fan and not something deeply buried under the dash.

If its your '01 and the miles are extremely high, it could be the blower motor. The sampler fan takes 2 minutes to remove and clean/lubricate, I just did mine preventatively but there was not much difference after (I don't have any chirp, just did it anyway)

If you remove the cabin filter housing you should be able to get a spray can of lubricant on the bearing of the blower motor as we've researched in the past weeks

It's on my 4.8 ... only 66k miles. I'll try the sampler fan 1st and hope that's it.
