Calling All Oregon E53 Owners!!!
I've been noticing quite a few Oregonians on here over the last year. Let's all sign in here and I'll try and get a BBQ going this spring for us! I'll bump this every so often.....
My name is Mike and I'm in Oregon City. I have one E53, an e36/7, and an e38. Oh ya and a bunch of software:) Peace:thumbup: |

It was near Pendleton, OR and was my only ticket in over 5,000 miles on the Great Trip West in 2014. I think it was a couple hundred dollar fine. :dunno: It's on my record, too. "Speeding: Unspecified" :banghead: Ahh well. Gotta pay to play. :( |

Clocked @ 97 in a 65. Was going 120+. Heavy fine, and traffic school:/. It was the first few months of Z ownership, what can I say;) |
Oregon grown and raised. Have an e38/9 both the same color mind you, e53 and an e36.
Every one of my moving violations has been in this great state!!! |
Oregon's famous 55 mph speed and rude gas station attendants..especially at the Safeway in Clackamas lol...they always tell me to get back in the car cuz they got it..on a rude tone...well sir I'm used to pumping my own gas :) stop being a jerk(in my head).
I visit my relatives in Gresham quite often. |

Also mine name is Dave and I'm in Bend. Mike.....what kind of software you got? Pm me |
Hey Mike!
I am Jason and live out in Hillsboro. BBQ get together sounds great! Got the X5 to enjoy the winter in and to do some camping in once the warmer weather comes around. Looks like you have drank and enjoy the BMW Kool-aid like me  |
Do any of you guys take the trip up to Leavenworth in the spring? I want to do that this year and it would be cool to go with a group. I'm hoping that the E38 will be running by then so I can take that. I have time share up in Seattle that a bunch of people can crash in as well.
|
I thought about it last year.....
Looks really neat.... And scary:) There's a guy here in Milwaukee I've talked to a few that's been. He just parted a turbo e36 that he ran there. He said it's a blast Edit. I'm thinking of something totally different. |
yeah, I was wondering about that....scary is not what I would think.... just out of curiosity what were you thinking?
|
Was trying to find a yt vid.
There is a private drive, somewhere, and full of twisties. There is a lil event each year. Consist of eating food and driving this road over and over.... Someone has to know what I'm talking about. Edit: found it ! Maryhill loops. http://youtu.be/q5chaktfo-E This one is a lil more bimmer friendly http://youtu.be/98QO0AZtWHg |
I have done the Leavenworth drive quiet a few times (if you are talking about the big euro car drive). I could be convinced to go again, I didn't to last year.
Maryhill loops is a lot of fun too. I would have gone back this year but my BMWCCA member expired. http://i673.photobucket.com/albums/v...5is/E30-86.jpg |

I know we have a couple more members in the Portland area...... Any of you guys ever attend the Portland cars and coffee? We have two here, one up north by the airport, and the other one now at world of speed in wilsonville. The latter one is insane. Huge turn outs with all kinds of rides. This could be at neat spot to meet up too. It would be a long drive for some, but I'm kind of just thinking out loud here........ It goes on year round every Saturday so scheduling would be easy. There's also 5er West which is a 5 series themed show that welcomes all makes of bimmers at Meldrum Bar Park every year. I stopped by last year to check it out. It's small, but brings in people from surrounding states. They turn it into a three day event with a dinner meet on Friday and a drive on Sunday. It would be awesome to attend this with 7-10 other e53's:) Post up any ideas you guys might have for a friendly, family (I have kids and love to include them on anything I can!), oriented meet ups related to our e53's. |
Vancouver, WA is basically Oregon...
Hi Mike, I'm Brent...
I'm here and I am in! It will have to be after April 1st if you don't want to hear my tires clicking the whole drive though! |

Driving my newly acquired e39 in the puoring rain up to Vancouver today, I started thinking about this thread!
Bump. Looks like five of us. That's great. I think we have a member in Astoria and possibly Sandy? Not sure. My neighbor picked up a black e53 a few months ago, I should go talk to him:) |
Hey Mike,
Did you get my text last night, I just want to make sure you know that I appreciate the help getting my e38 running. Is there something being planned that I'm not aware of? Thanks again Dave |
Yes I got it! Sorry I didn't get back to you. I read early this morning and didn't want to text you that early:)
No plans as of yet..... I'm thinking when the weather gets better, we could bbq at a park? If anyone wants to meet up at cars & coffe at world of speed, I could do that whenever. What's everyone's schedule? How are Saturday's? |
Any of you getting your X5s up into the snow?
Took mine to Trillium Lake for a Saturday snowshoe and was an absolute pleasure to drive on the crappy road conditions with off-road tires. |
We have had snow on the ground here since the end of November (off and on). I don't even put snow tires on, my 19" AS work just fine, and honestly pretty stable.
