Keep us posted! I'm very curious what code dealer pulls out of it.

Sure will once I figure this thing out... Have one for question for you man. When my X5 is cold like 25 degrees the tranmission doesn't want to go into reverse or drive. But once she warms up it works perfect. Any ideas...

When the temp is low, the trans fluid shrinks, so the level might be low on your car. There's no way to check the level on your E53, but you might want to do a trans fluid drain&fill to see if it helps. Or you can do the trans filter as well. I think it's only ~$40 from Bavauto, including a filter, a gasket and 17 new bolts. It takes about 6~7 qt, can't remember exactly. Works great on my car. Either ZF or Royal Purple will do fine.

Good luck!

Thanx pal for the info. Just got done with Fluid and filter change and Wow what a difference it made. Sooo much smoother and solid. Now when putting into gear I feel it engage before it kind of floated into gear. Also put some Lucus transmission additive. Filter was mad dirty and pan but not much stuff on magnet "that's good" I'm thinking maybe filter was clogged up causing fluid to be restricted on cold start ups. The test Will be in a few days when it's 19 in the morning. Crossing my fingers.

Great! Glad to hear it works. You'll be fine! When the temp got -30 here, mine starts right up and engage right on after the fluid change.

Good luck! Keep us posted on the dealer code on P2098!!! ;)

Will do...

Mine worked good in 35 degree weather just a little jump a few times than it would engage. Hoping for the best.

That's odd. Donno why, maybe the tranny and torque converter need to adjust to the new fluid.

Good luck.

The issues I was having was before the oil change. Didn't have a cold enough night yet to see if it is better yet . In the best few days will be the test to see if it helped.

Please read carefully on the thread below by Doru, leaky injector oring can cause LEAN condition, but I DON'T think it will cause POST cat lean condition. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
