Cranking of M54B30 X5
This morning took me 2 seconds longer to crank my X5, temperature was -2 celsius degrees...is it normal that cranking up take a bit longer when it is cold like this in the morning or should i be worried about it (like sparkplugs, battery and stuff)? I know i have enough antifreeze for temps to -7 degrees celsius.

Watch for another day and see if the problem persists or even worse. There're only 3 elements to successfully start the engine, Oxygen, gas and spark. O2 and spark is usually not the problem, it's usually the gas. If the problem persists, check for fuel filter and fuel pump. Sometimes, leak/condensation in the fuel line can crystallize and block the passage (especially when fuel filter is dirty).
Good Luck! |
