What size/style spare wheel for 4.6is & 4.8is?

I have a 2006 X5 4.4i I've been upgrading. I have the larger 4.8 front calipers. I just realized my spare wheel is a 17" style 130. Oops that won't fit over the large front calipers.
I tried putting one of my winter 18" style 153 in the trunk, but it was too wide. The cargo deck won't close all the way.

So I'm sure the 4.8 and 4.6 must have a 18" or 19" spare wheel.

What size and style spare wheel came with the 4.8 & 4.6?

A space saver spare.

They have a space saver compact donut. 19" IIRC.

Does anyone know where I can buy one?

When I was shopping for my X5, I saw several with upgraded tire packages and all of them had a 17 for a spare. I did not look at a 4.8, but I noticed that the 4.4s that we looked at had a 17, and the 3.0s did as well. It did not matter what tires were on the ground, the trunk had a 17, Style 138 if I recall correctly.

^3.0 and 4.4 have the same brakes. They usually have a 17" full sized alloy wheel/tire as a spare.

The 4.6 and 4.8 have the same big front brakes that require 18" or larger wheels, so these models usually have the big space saver spare.

As mentioned...you can always order the space saver spare from a BMW dealership (local or online)...or you can pull up the BMW 11 digit nbr for that spare in the part database...then do a google search by typing "BMW xx xx x xxx xxx" to find other vendors that may sell that item:

You need item #1 in the diagram below...it's a 5"x19" wheel with a 40mm offset: RealOEM.com - Online BMW Parts Catalog

I've got a full sized 20" 10.5J rear spare lurking in my boot - not really practical but I got it cheap so it'll do for now!!
