All,

Noticed a line unplugged under the air box while I was replacing the Vanos oil line. Can't find where this plugs in, can somebody please help me on where this plugs into?

I don't know the 3l engine, but that looks like an un-used connector available for front air suspension (I'm guessing you don't have)

That plugs in under the intake manifold, there is a nipple that points down towards the front of the manifold on the driver's side. If you look at the two bolts that hold your power steering reservoir down it is right above and about two inches back from the rear bolt. It is a vacuum hose but don't know for what.

Interesting. It looks like it was connected to something though. I started up my x5 and no vacuum or air coming from it.

It could also go to the fuel tank venting valve which is in the same location, page 130-24 of Bently manual.

Lol. My bad. Thought he was talking about the electrical connector on the strut tower.

Awesome sir! That was exactly it. If this was a vac leak source, you might have fixed my check light too ;)
