PDC calibration?

Hi all. I finally fixed my PDC problem. I had the dreaded long beep whenever PDC was activated, so I replaced the one sensor I found to be dead (no clicking sounds coming from it) and still had the same problem intermittently... so I took a chance and bought another PDC sensor and installed and now GREAT SUCCESS as Borat would say.
BUT every now and again it seems that when I shift into reverse and the PDC activates, it will work properly, but as I'm well away from objects and before I get to the speed where the PDC sensing turns off again, I get false beeps...
So i'm wondering if I need to calibrate the sensors with my DIS 5.7 or some other software?
I have researched and some other models of cars have this suggested in older threads on Bimmerforms, but no one mentions having done it.

^ I have the same issue since replacing 2 of my PDC sensors to get the system working again and yes they are clean. I get a lot of false PDC warnings - I was tooling around in DIS once and couldn't find anything to calibrate - I may try again next time I have it hooked up or try running INPA but yeah I feel like some are hyper sensitive and honestly the PDC sucks because of that.

RB, I will take a look around in next week or so too. I have a DIS/INPA/SSS Program guru coming to my place next week while he is in town and I'll ask him if he knows of a PDC calibration we can run.
this guy is an absolute genius when it comes to loading this software onto laptops and actually running the software too.
Not to sound like a commercial/salesman but his laptops are insanely loaded with all diagnosis software and every repair manual you can think of.
anyhow, back to topic. I'll see if I can find out some deets for us.

I have this feeling ive seen a menu or something about changing PDC sensitivity values... Cant place where...

INPA or PASoft scanner... Theres something to code values in either one, if you have either id dig around through the menus.

Aha knew it, searched quick on google for E39 as theres usually more info out there/posts and interchangeable with e53.

There are settings in bmwscanner you can edit, heres a screenshot of the post from my phone...

Looks like it might be a code change.

This is cool because my wife constantly complains about this and wants me to disconnect it. I don't have issues with it and think it's a pretty good system, but I don't drive it that often. She drives it everyday.

I'm gonna poke around on INPA too, but I have a feeling a value change is going to be needed which would require coding with NCS expert or _________.(fill in the blank with your choice of coding software)

Funny I've replaced 3-4 in the last two years and never had to recalibrate. I did get used original BMW sensors from eBay (being cheap) so perhaps new or aftermarket versions are different enough to have this problem.
