Climate Control A/C button fixed - easy and affordable

My 'Colder' button was broken, falling out easily

Via ebay mobile I bought a replacement button - looked okay on their poor quality pics on the eBay listing - and all positive feedback. Those buttons are junk, completely different look. When I asked to return them, seller gave me full refund immediately - so I couldn't leave feedback - I see why they do that.

I purchased a new button for $25 with shipping from: IHKAButtons.com
(I have no affiliation with them).

Popped right in, good as new. Separately, I still need the bezel which is broken if anyone has a link that would be great.

I feel like she's still looking fresh, not showing her 215,000 miles one bit!

Yeah those buttons break all the time. Sometimes they crack down the middle as well as the tab breaking off.

You can get a whole face plate worth of genuine buttons for like $80. That guy running IHKAbuttons is making a killing.

Yeah, I thought about it. I always end up buying stuff like that and then it just sits around not being used. Hopefully no other buttons break and the $25 one time investment pans out.

I read about other people going to dealership and paying $250 for this same thing though - ouch!

Bought my whole panel from the dealership for $110ish if memory serves. Only did it because the wife vacuumed one of the buttons off the HVAC and it disintegrated in the impeller. Normally I just clean with alcohol, put a couple of dabs of Permatex gasket maker on the top 2 tabs, and reinstall. Never had a problem with a button coming back off after that. Total cost: ~$6 for the Permatex. Used this trick at least a half dozen times now.

One button for $25 is not a deal! WTF?

I certainly wouldn't call it a deal. The alternative is to buy the whole panel for ~$100, or deal with it.

I also bought the outer plastic trim, since mine was broken (as seen in pics), coming soon. Lists on REALOEM for $20, dealer wants $80, used 'like new' for $40 :(

Ditto - I bought the whole panel for around $100 from a Taiwan based eBay seller who produces excellent quality after-market panels that seem to be a perfect match for the OEM one. While I had the module out, I also cleaned the sensor and all internals that were covered in dust. There's a youtube video on how to disassemble this unit, clean and reassemble. Helped heaps and now I enjoy a climate control module that works perfectly and looks brand new.

Yeah you can buy for $60 on ebay a whole new panel face.

I bought the whole plate for 50.00 on eBay, I was going to just replace the one broken button but the plate like the same as the orginal, so I just installed the new plate and saved the original in case I need buttons down the line....
