Which Centric Pads ?
I need to replace my front pads ....
I was thinking about the StopTech Street Performance Brake Pads for $ 62.23 Part Number: 18504-05112716 Found at the end of the page 05 2005 BMW X5 Brake Pad Set - Brake - Centric, Front, Rear - PartsGeek Thoughts ? |
I would take a look at Power Stop
Power Stop | Extreme Performance Brake Systems Available from everywhere RockAuto etc For Street use try the Z16/Z17 product. The Z17 us the same product but with hardware in the box. The product you marked has very low friction capabilities. See for your self on the manufacture's website WELCOME TO CENTRIC PARTS - Centric Parts BRAKE FRICTION - Centric Parts |
Stephen what were your pads again? I am thinking to add another coat of G2 caliper paint this year on my calipers and just get the nice Centric rotors and get rid of the Pagid pads and go with the ones you have - I recall you saying the bite was better than Cool Carbons since we do get some cold temps

It was the ones I recommended above. Have them on my X5 and they are perfect for the brake/vehicle weight balance of normal street driving. As I have posted before, I use mine for mostly town and country driving followed by trips monthly to keep things lubed. I had them on for 5,000/1YEAR so far very good.
Good cold morning braking, warmed up, and I GOT TO SLOW DOWN NOW traffic driving and commuting madness pedal modulations. Not grabby at all. No noise, dust, etc. Felt like OE first week. Normal break in procedure required for full performance (See their website for the modest process). Power Stop | Extreme Performance Brake Systems Available everywhere RockAuto etc For Street use try the Z16/Z17 product. The Z17 is the same product as Z16, but with hardware in the box along with the pads. I have Cool Carbon on my M5 as it sees a more "spirtied" driving style  |
