need help with this screen shot i bought the vehicle use but according to the pic possible steering angle sensor was change but not coded can somebody verified this. checking their setting for me to see what it suppose to read.?? possible that's why i still have trifecta light.

gatojurko 03-23-2016 04:49 PM

First do your trajectory! When it is wrong it shows like that because computer can not read it correctly! Angle sensor is quit expensive if it is broken...but usually it is trajectory! To regulate that it costs 25 dollars...do not know about usa!
Have u tried to delete with steering wheel your mistake? Steering wheel can stay corectly...but if it is little bit wrong to some left or right side u r not able to delete it! If u changed already it..u had to calibrate it! Otherwise... your new sensor will not help u!

I never change it or new about it I bought the vehicle a while back with the trifecta lights on ABS module was reman I just notice this since I bought the inpa/dis software

gatojurko 03-23-2016 05:55 PM

Make a good diagnostic as well!

i guess i need to start from scratch and find a front alignment shop that knows about these bmw to get that out of the way i had the alignment about 8 months ago steering wheel at 12 1/4 to the right when driving straight here are pics of the reading 1 pic is at 12 oclock
which shows way off and second pics of steering wheel at 9 o clock where it shows center on screen

4.8isX5 03-23-2016 07:57 PM

From the looks of it need to code it to the car, shouldnt have all those ? Marks in there. Alignment doesnt have much say and any shop that says they need to calibrate something is full of crap. Seems like it has been repaced- in the first pic at bottom it says if lws is new and says yes.

Thinking you need to code it and if all is working properly turn wheel all the way to left and right and dsc light will disappear also.

Whenever i get something like that doing the turn wheel all way to left/right recalibrates it. Usually happens after a dead battery i needed to do it once this winter.

Which software to use to code it dis or ???

Helihover 03-24-2016 08:00 AM

Do you have a light on ? Is there an issue or are you just poking around?

You can calibrate that sensor in inpa, yourself.

1iwilly 03-24-2016 01:38 PM

yes the 3 lights are on. i tried to find it in inpa but no luck where exactly would it be under if you won't mind telling me

If you have three lights on, it's not related to your steering angle sensor. Your problem lies elsewhere.

gatojurko 03-24-2016 03:27 PM

Make your trajectory straight! Even when u change the size of wheels it has to be done straight but not every body is doing this!

1iwilly 03-24-2016 03:48 PM

Abs module was just refurbish 3 weeks ago I just replace the LF abs sensor that was bad the 3 other check out ok
So that leave SAS

Ya when you calibrate.......

The steering sensor can not through an abs fault.

Once you've got PA Soft loaded on pc.

Back-up and save existing LEW Bin file.

Copy - rename - edit then upload.

You might need HEX editor to confirm and compare changes between bin files before uploading.

1iwilly 03-26-2016 12:05 PM

If you look at the pic I posted there is nothing to compare as that one has no info at all except the ffff
