well i know behind the mirror it is not there because i took off the mirror cap to look back there.. and i do know behind my door panel there is 3 plugs and out of the 3 plugs 1 plug has nothing connected but i was think maybe that is for the folding mirror .. but is it possible that the plug is for the lights and folding mirror?

U do not have folding mirrors? As far as I know folding mirrors started 2003.my has it for 2002. so it means somebody did retrofit or wrong info for me :) about your plug I do not know because my all are busy! U can try with 2 wires and small checking light! U have to catch that moment...mirror lights is on when u open doors it is together with door and roof lights

no i do not have the folding mirrors unless i fold them myself lol..man i feel like im not gonna be to do this retrofit :( lol .. im just gotta focus on the led lights on the door handle caps lol if i can find bulbs for that retrofit lol

U have to check your plug and that's it! That plug with 3 pins could be for folding...what I can do is to take out my button panel and make a picture for my plug! I saw video on youtube about folding retrofit... To get mirror lights will be really easy...the simplyiest way to do is to connect to under door lights :)
That retrofit is easy comparing with my rear seat folding :D

yeah my 4.4 didnt have none of that.. i just did the lights on the inside door handle i found i DIY on here from mrbmwx5 i think his name was and i drilled a hole on the handle housing and got those lights installed .. now i wanna do the outside door handle just looking for the bulbs and wires to do it .. that is why i wanted to get the mirrors done as well to keep me busy lol .. the next thing i would like to do would be rear fog lights but i was told that wont happen unless i change my LCM to LCM3 and then gotta get it programed.. but i was also thinking of maybe trying to get rear heated seats well that is if i can do it lol... and also if i do the lights for the mirrors and connect to under the door light won't the lights be on all the time when my interior lights are on?

What car u have..if u do not have rear fog lights...but u will need new button dashboard for rear fog lights...
strange..u have 4.4 petrol... should be equiped with almost everything! Du u have rear suspension?
Rear seats to get heating is very easy... u need to take off driver's seat..and under carpet should be plug ins for rear button console...and also need relay at the trunk in the first 'nest'!
I do not have heated seats at the front...that is problem..
If I want to use favtory center console I shall need it te reprogramm and change all wires there...because I have small pin connector which is different!
I also want led light fir outside handle! Hope some day will get it done! Here is how to do it on this page...old thread!
My mirror lights are together with interior lights...when I switch inside lights on mirror lights goes on as well!

i have 2001 4.4i X5 i don't think the rear fog lights come standard in canada. but i do know i need the other headlight switch that has front and rear fog button.. and yes i do have rear air suspension. i think the rear heated seat well be on the to do list for sure aslong as i dont lose my front heated seats lol..but yeah the outside door handle is my next task there is the DIY instructions on here i just gotta find the leds.. i seen some T1 3/4 5mm on ebay pre wired so that will save me some time just gotta drill the little holes and install them and connect the wires and should be good im excited about doing that very soon i am just waiting on the seller to msg me back because i asked him if the wire was 24 gauge like 2 days ago and no reply yet from him

I am from Latvia but my car was built for Italy...that's why I do not have heated seats I think...but I have webasto! Through secret codes u can see for which country your car was built... my fuse box explanation is in italic as well...
It is strange..Canada is nordic state...it should have rear fog light just guessing..u have to drive through big snowing...

well im from toronto here it does not snow like it once use to like this past winter i think we only got 2 snow storms and the snow melted away in like 2 days..but it's ok aslong as i can add all this stuff that will be great.. i just can't wait to get all this stuff done lol
