Updated DME using SSS Program, stuck restoring CKM values?!
OMFG - I updated the ECM yesterday, no problem. Today was updating the DME, laptop fully charged, car battery on charger. Right at the moment it finished the update, my laptop went into 'suspend' mode! I forgot to check that, it was set to 15 minutes when on laptop battery. I logged back in, it had an X besides the update - but then it started up, restoring CKM values. Where it is not stuck, at least an additional 15 minutes doing so.
Do I wait, do I cancel, can I try it again, have I bricked my DME? I can't believe my bad luck... |
I have only started with the programming and only once used progman sss but I am confused by your post. Are you trying to reprogram the DME with updates for driveability and such or work with car/key memory functions. Is progman stuck now and car doesn't start or did it finish restoring back to where you started ? What makes you think DME is bricked ??

SSS progman
Whew, I didn't brick it - I had to reboot SSS, and start over, this time with my laptop PLUGGED IN - and was able to flash update the EGM, DCM, and then had to recode the DSC. All went well. HOWEVER - my damn
EGS – 05 EGS: Pressure actuator EDS5 and 2460 Automatic transmission control, 246001 Faulty shifting errors still appear! I had a guy ohm test the actuators, he said he dropped the pan to do so - and they were all in spec... could it be that even though they READ ok, that the one in question is in fact NOT ok? I'm scratching my head here trying to get my old X5 back road worthy! :( |
A new TCM from the auto wrecker and coded using SSS progman resolved my issue. Working transmission, happy days.

Just curious what are you guys using to code and update your software? Where did you buy your stuff from or get new daten files? PM me if you are not wanting to post here.
Cheers! |
I bought a package on Epay from a guy in England. There was a lot of software with it including NCS, INPA, DIS and Progman. I've used DIS to read and clear trouble codes and Progman to do some "coding" but haven't gotten into updating onboard firmware with the "daten files." Yet, that is ;)

That must have been frustrating, good that fixed it!
