Can't replace headlights!?

Hello! I'm new here, my name is Chris. I recently became the owner of a 2003 X5 E53 3.0i. And I have a problem that I hope you gents can help me with. I ordered headlights with angel eye halo, then I find out that it will. It go because I have the factory HID's. So, now I have to return the headlights, but I don't want to! Now, I've tried with no luck to find the proper aftermarket headlights that can be used, but nothing! Please, can anyone point me in the right direction. Is it possible to configure the new lights? Thank you.

Pic of the new lights. Anything is possible

Buy the Depo's from fishcake321 for D2S Oem xenon models - these are what you want - pics of headlights you ordered, there are a few designs for the halogen models with angel eyes, and only one of them actually looks good (Spyder)

If I understood correctly the lights fit your truck but the factory HID bulbs wont fit the aftermarket lights?

I think those have projectors that use 9005 halogen bulbs?

If so just get a 9005-based HID capsule and a D2 to amp adapter cable.

+1 for the Depo's.

These are the lights I want. But I will check out the Depo. But before I do, think I can wire these lights up?

Dont waste your time and return them they are junk - get the Depo's that are made for the OEM xenons with the LED angel eyes if you want a "set it and forget it" solution

No problem at all and sorry to be blunt just want to be honest :) - you will be MUCH happier - and btw I would buy a new set of D2S bulbs as your 13 year old original bulbs are at about half their brightness -

HIDbulbsRus | Home sells Genuine Osram and Philips bulbs for about $70-85 shipped - your night vision will thank you

Usually fishcake321 ships with a set of new bulbs.

^Yes but they are aftermarket and not D2S bulbs they are Chinese made D2C bulbs - there is a HUGE difference in light output between Genuine and aftermarket xenon bulbs.

Also according to his description he includes 8000K bulbs, combining that makes them double crap - I would NOT use the bulbs in his kit, you may as well plug in halogens.

Joshdub 05-11-2016 12:07 PM

But what kind of bulbs? Probably cheap ones.

Ricky Bobby 05-11-2016 12:16 PM

extra cheap cheena 8000K blue ones lol

Joshdub 05-11-2016 12:21 PM

Haha wow. Yeah you may as well.

I also second Depo with genuine or better bulbs if you're looking for plug and play. No sense in spending all that money and still having crap for vision.

We don't use the word "can't" around here, lol.

Odds are if you want to do something and are struggling a bit with it, someone here has already found a way to do it. :)

Seriously, there's not a single problem that I've encountered with my E53 that SOMEONE here hasn't cooked up a solution/fix/improvement/DIY.

The original headlights are way better quality then your aftermarket ones. To get the halo ones you are going to have to accept and inferior quality set or have to upgrade the guts and price to get what you want.

Yes so true do not go with cheap D2S bulbs.
