a) she's not a bimmerfan-girl anymore.....sounds like she's perhaps saying she's tired of the repair downtimes and money chewed by the X5 thus far.

b) OP is hurt by the money already put down that he is likely not going to see the results of the investment or getting the money back.

In the grand scheme of things, I think the former is what really matters.

It's paid for, owned so yes, this has been my point to her from the beginning of her talk of selling it.

I guess to me, it's her rig. I like having it quite a bit and think it's a special thing but I name my cars and she does not.

Yikes! I think the comments could be seen that way but could also be just humorous wsys to solve the dilemma I find myself in and pointing out that both opinions count when shared interest is on the chopping block.

I appreciate the effort to reach out with an opinion and don't think for a moment anyone intended to be disrespectful. Just guys and garage talk. We all, married or not understand the "couch" as the possible cost of a victory sometimes.

Now if I can direct everyone's attention away from that back to this X5.

She hit 100 passing someone today on a fun little 2-lane road up a pass. I think she kind of has feelings for the rig but like getting bucked off a horse she's a bit saddle shy.

I'm going to give her a few months to think about it. I just ordered some new headlights, it'd be stupid to sell it before they're installed and tested right?

It's a great truck and yes, it's a money pit with no overall benefit if sold and if she doesn't see the joy of driving it, why keep her in it. If I can help her fall back in love with it that would be great. If not, she gets what she feels best in. Perhaps we'll be a 3 car family again.

Meanwhile I won't be posting an ad with an insane price 'cause you guys will blast the ad in a thread titled "look at this idiot!" and I'd have to raise my hand and say it was me. I'm not ready for that yet.

They don't use the xenon ballast/bulbs that are stock so maybe I'll retrofit these Spyders when I need another project.

Yeah, you have to. They're downright dangerous at night, the optics are so poor (and installed UPSIDE DOWN most of the time) - see my exploits here.
