Lifeguard 5 in power steering?

I've got some Lifeguard 5 left over from my transmission rebuild. My PS hoses are starting to leak; there's 110k on the car so it's that time. My reservoir cap is labeled for ATF. Any reason I can't use the Lifeguard in the steering system?

No reason, but when you factor in the cost of generic ATF with what it cost for Lifeguard, I'll save the lifeguard for the tranny and just use a good ATF fluid.

Agreed LifeGuard is 5 times more costly than good ATF

I would stick to regular ATF. The lifeguard may not be compatible with the system (i.e. viscosity)

Okay thanks all. I was thinking of using Redline D4 which is $17/bottle, similar to the LG5.

Drop a little ATP Re-Seal in the PS fluid until you get around to replacing the hoses - certainly slows down the weeping.
