Business CD USB/SD/AUX Adapter
Hey,
I've been browsing on eBay (again) and stumbled upon this little adapter that is designed so you can use a USB stick, SD card or 3.5mm aux cable to listen to music via your Business CD in the X5. I was going to purchase a CD changer as mine didn't come with one and my Aux cable hasn't arrived yet. However, this seems much better (and cheaper) if it works well. Purchased one tonight and it should be here by Friday so i'll do a writeup below once i've installed it. CAR USB AUX SD MP3 CD Changer Adapter BMW E39 E53 E83 E85 Business CD | eBay Does anybody have one in their vehicle? I'm interested to know what the sound quality is like and if it displays MP3 file names. |
Looks cool!!!

very similar to a GROM unit.
I have the GROM and I love its usefulness. If I had a Nav screen stereo, I'm wondering with the GROM if the list of tracks in a folder would show up... thats the ONLY thing I hate with my business cd player is I have NO idea what folder is sometimes and what songs are in the folder, OR how many... |
Unit arrived today. Going to try the install tomorrow. Will post results tomorrow night.

Installed the adapter and it works well. Installation was easy as and the AUX/USB function is very good. The sound quality is also good, however i've noticed at low volume levels you can hear an engine whine when using audio through the unit. Does anybody know how to eliminate this?
I've also just noticed that my car bluetooth no longer functions. It is connected to the phone but no audio can be heard through the speakers. I'm assuming that a few of the pins on the connector cable may be wrong (the kit came with its own piggyback cable). Does anybody have any idea on what could be causing this? |
