Do I Have Folding Mirror?
 

Hello All, I have the "switch" on the driver door window switch console, and I thought I had folding mirrors. I took the driver side cover off and this is what I see. No micro switch and no wires that are disconnected from anything. Can you guys confirm? But why would I have the switch inside but not the motors/wiring for it? Slowly trying to get everything working on this rig like it is supposed to . Thanks

Someone could have removed all the wiring, but more likely they replaced with window switch from a car that had power folding mirrors.

Sure it's not the mirror selection switch that you think is the switch for the folding mirror?

When I first got my X5 (2006 E53 4.4i N62) in 2013, the mirror-folding microswitch lever brackets were broken (rise points at top of switch on each end). I needed to buy new microswitches (Mfr part no: V4NCS). Your mirrors indeed do not house the microswitch. See here at about 9:17 and beyond. Particularly, note where the switch is placed.
