Sad to see the X5 go

First off, I wanna thank those that have helped me in the past 5 years almost 100k Miles of ownership.. This is by far one of the most helpful auto forum I've ever been on. People here are respectful, knowledgeable and ready to go out of their way to help other members.

With that being said, I sold the E53 with 197k miles ( was really hoping to see it turn 200k) today. I have to say I felt seller remorse seeing it driven off by a random person.

I do plan to get back into another BMW soon, not sure if it'll be e70 or an f25..

Til next time

Hope you find another vehicle as nice as our X5. I'm struggling with this now as I do like the new X3's and even more, I like the X35d in Vermillion red at my local dealer (CPO).

i agree it won't be easy to find a car that feels and drive the same way as the E53's. And interestingly enough yesterday and today, i saw several e53's driving around as if to tell me what a big mistake i made lol...
I don't mind the new X3, but would prefer the X5 if it was within my price range.

Any X that begins with an F instead of an E with be very numb in the driving experience department. If you want nice and BORING to drive go with a Lexus at least and have it be reliable. At with the E53 or E70 we get the old BMW driving characteristics to make us feel ok about the reliability issues.

Cadillac is making an X3 competitor and they are tuning their cars as sport luxury. Like BMW USED to do.

Mind me asking what you got for it? I've got 105k mi on mine listed for $9k and it's not moving. I just can't bring myself to let it go for less - it drives better than that. 2hr trip through open mind roads this weekend that really made me remember what it's great at

I sold it for $3k... It was for sale since January. At 199k miles, I knew it wasn't going to go quick. I've had many offers at $2k but I decided to drive it than sell it for $2k. Ppl may say I sold it cheap but in my area, I knew I was going to get more. Depending on your manufacturing year and overall condition, $9k may be high in the eye of a person that bases the value of the car based on kbb.

Interestingly enough I got more calls after I removed all the service work that I've done compared to the ad with a full service list. (I had one person that said to me that the car had too much work done and that it might need more work :-). )

Well the Lexus IS the mrs car. It has been reliable this far but man, it's too soft of a ride. I have driven my brother in law's f70 and it drove nice but it's not an e53. Not saying it's bad car, but it just doesn't feel as connected as the f70.
Which Cadillac is the competitor to the x3?

It would be tough to find the replacement that compartible to the E53. I absolutely hate the look of the new Lexus. Good luck in your decision.
