Real Subframe Bushing Tool

1 Attachment(s)
I bought this tool, used it once. Worked flawlessly. Ready to pass on to the next DIYer. What's a suitable resale value for this?

Used tool worth 50% of retail price.

At one time there was a member that rented a subframe tool. Might be an option to consider.

What are the applicable vehicles other than the X5?

mtuohy 07-04-2016 01:14 PM

X5 (E53) 1999-2007.

X5only 07-04-2016 01:16 PM

Will it work on the E39? E92?

mtuohy 07-04-2016 01:34 PM

The bushings for these two models have different dimensions ( not as wide as the X5 bushing and housing). This tool is too specific to cross over to other models. In fact the rubber bushing has "keyed" features molded into it that this tool utilizes for exact fitment. E53 only.

He's not a Premier member so he can't sell on this forum. Make him an offer.

:iagree: Considering a shop will charge at least 2-3 hours of book time this is spot on - $150 and then turn around and sell it when done with it - with these E53's you probably only need to do these bushings every 10 years or 120k miles whichever comes first

You can buy a brand new one on Amazon with a warranty for $121.00.

Can also rent it for half that price, and if the bushings last 10 years you'll probably get rid of the X before you need to redo them again.

Tool is only good for a person who is in the business of repairing cars or just like to have tools.

Wow thats smoking price - the Baum tool I used to rent out here was $320 when it was new, I bought it from a guy who used once for $200 - and started renting it a few times and it worked great

I agree though after you do them once you won't need to for a very long time

Hhmm, a used one for $75 ...
