In a prior life, I had a 2000 4.4. Those are great cars. A bit hoggish on fuel, but lots of fun.
Congrats, and welcome. |
This has been mostly just sitting around in the driveway, awaiting the time that I can pull and rebuild the transmission. However, today I found on craigslist a 2001 X5 that is being parted out with a verified good transmission in it, I am snagging it for $700! Between my time and money, I can't rebuild mine myself for that cheap so I'm going for it! Anything else I should snag that you can think of that is common to go bad on these?
While it has been sitting I removed the nasty PPF on the hood and fenders, cleaned the headlights up and pulled / cleaned / polished the wheels! http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...pskuanksgd.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...psl7m3dzbi.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps5xoiwyng.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...psw1yoquio.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...psj4kuglev.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...psxd95mjab.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...pstegaz8p0.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...pswhkm99qh.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...pszxekj9yf.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...psx5ahknqx.jpg While I was cleaning the wheels up, I also pulled and cleaned all the wheel speed sensors hoping that was the source of my ABS engagement at low speeds trying to accelerate and when braking, no luck. I will need to get a scanner that can read what's going on. |
Holy crap $700! Thats awesome! Good luck fixing her up, and great start!
|
Yea, $700 is about half of what I could find anywhere else and this one was personally driven by the shop owner and he guarantees it, most that I found had more miles and are at least double the price!
