E53 Wheels

Can 2003 4.6 20" wheels be used on 2004 4.8is, front and rear? Really appreciate this forum,

Yes. All wheels are interchangeable within the E53 platform. Although 17's won't clear the front calipers on the 4.6 and 4.8is

Yes, and it will look better! :iagree::noadd:

Aren't they the same size, same widths, same weight,, same hub bore, and same wheel offset? Why would they NOT fit?

Yes they fit.

In addition, internal wheel tire pressure sensors are not needed. The 4.8is system doesn't care since it runs off the wheels speed (ABS) sensors.

Interesting.. So what would one need to retrofit the system if you don't have it?

One would need the desire to add to his otherwise reliable E53 the shit poor POS system that simply must be a zillion miles off target.

Don't do it.

:iagree:
Speed senors ones are a PITA....... No info just a light which makes you pull over, check each wheel, check pressure and then reset the system to recognize the 2 PSI difference front to back. Mine only tell you after driving 30 mins at HWY speeds.

The question is...why would you want to retrofit and go with the (direct) RDA tire monitor system with sensors in each tire? It's paying money for sensors that basically do the same thing as the RPA (indirect) system...plus the headache of replacing the sensors when the batteries die...and making sure the sensors aren't damaged if you have to replace a tire.

This is the indirect RPA system description:

Below is a chart that shows some of the models that had the DIRECT RDA system and some that had the INDIRECT RPA system:
