non dsp amp wiring
Looking to add a sub to my non-dsp system. Been searching for days but cannot get some definitive knowledge on the harness wire pinout.
I know I can connect my remote on wire to the purple/white wire. Power and ground are no problem, but I just want to make sure I tap into the correct wires for my speaker level inputs. these are my pigtails/harness in the drivers side wheel well: http://i.imgur.com/B1RlbN5.jpg http://i.imgur.com/KyDsbzY.jpg now I think the thicker solid yellow/brown and solid blue/brown are what would be factory sub wires (if I had one). Are there different wires I should be tapping into for line signal? Can I tap into the solid white wire for remote on? If anyone can shed some light on this for me, I would be most appreciative :-) |
I'll have a look through the wiring diagrams for you but it would help to know the year and engine of your X5.
The full wiring diagrams and connector pinouts are available online if you want to look yourself: - WDS BMW Wiring Diagram System |
It's a 2005 4.4i Last 7 of vin LV18256.

OK, had a look at the wiring diagrams for you - I'm pretty sure you are looking at connector X605.
http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f2...psd9jhf44z.png Your amplifier is called A18. I've attached a pin out listing for connector X605 on A18. The wires of interest are pins pair 1 & 2 (Brown & Yellow) and pair 24 & 25 (Brown & Blue). They feed the rear door speakers - the larger "woofers". No sub wiring on the non-DSP radio system. |
Thanks a lot wpoll! Those were the ones I was going to tap, really nice to have definitive wiring pinouts. That PDF is just what I was looking for :-)
