Don't have a clue if that kit is good or not. Customer satisfaction rating is high.

Utter nightmare !

Halfway though the stem seal change and the tool slipped and managed to fire the hat that sitso n top of the spring and cant find it anywhere !

Even if it is on the floor somewhere I always use a bright flashlight beam to focus where I look. Also get down next to the floor so I can sweep it to cover more area faster. Easy to see anything that is above the floor level.

Ive been looking for hours :(

It only made a single noise as it flew so I thought it was still in the head bat have looked in both heads so many times.

Also looked on the undertray, the floor, the rest of the engine bay etc and no where to be seen - im proper stuck now as cant carry on the repair or get one or find it. :bawling:

Sorry, I know how it feels, may be time to take a break and drink a pint.

I have also used a magnet that is on an extendable shaft and just fish around where I can't see that well and even places I am sure it isn't and found lost parts that way. Auto parts stores have the magnet.

Yea the light has gone so given up for today - nearly 4 hours hunting :(

Got the magnet and a few torches and long fingers lol

Felt everywhere in the head and im 99% sure its not in there unless it managed to go down the timing chan (although it would have done well to get from the rear inlet valve spring of cylinder 3, past all the cam and valvetronics and go down there).

Ive got one on order now that will be here in a week and a nice premium but I still would rather find this one so I knows its not gone anywhere it shouldnt !

bcredliner 08-13-2016 04:06 PM

Yes, I would want to find it too.

Think about where it might be just before you go nite nite. Sometimes you will have some new ideas in the morning.

When it rains - it pours ! :(

Finally found the missing item and cracked on with the rest - im two from the end and my compressor cut out, lost pressure and the inlet valve on cylinder 6 dropped in the bore - FML

Can I pull the inlet manifold and have enough access to get it back i or am I going to be taking the head off ?

bcredliner 08-15-2016 11:00 AM

May be able to get it without taking the head off. Intake manifold has to come off to take head off so--good luck!

Will keep it updated for people incase anyone else has my kind of luck !
