How to fold out passenger wiper?

This might be a dumb question! I have 2005 E53 4.4i and I am trying to replace the wiper on the passenger side and the wiper is hitting the edge of the hook when I lift up.

I tried the method that other people said to put the key into ignition and hold wiper switch up for 3 seconds and both wipers will fold out. I tried this method, up and down for tons of times but nothing happened.

Does anyone know the actual way to replace the wiper on passenger side?

Thanks.

On my 02 - turn on ignition to PO's 2, start wipers, as they sweep up, turn off ignition.

Try again until wiper clears hood.

I will give it a try! But wonder if it will sweep back no matter how fast I turn off ignition.

I always consider BMW will have a special way to change the wiper since it is hitting the hood.

Works on my '06

There is a way to get them to "park" in the vertical position. Something for snow country... Try running the car, with the wipers on, and then turning the engine off.

Or do as some of us did, retrofit E70 wipers. They clear all the time!!

Ditto...the above works on my 06...and the instructions for putting the wiper blades in the fold out position are in the owners manual. If you have rain sensing wipers...there's additional text & methods:
