Question on Brake Warranty

I just got my front brake pads and rotors changed under warranty at 18.5k miles. The dealer said the rear pads were fine and I agree they do look fine. Is this pretty normal for them to only change one set at a time?

I think the rear has another 5000 miles to go, but I just hate to keep bringing the car in, just such waste of time.

While it's a PITA, that's not unusual

pretty normal... just for clarificaton, brakes are wear and tear items covered under the free maintenance and not warranty.

Driving up and down the hills in San Francisco is tough. You are constantly riding on the brakes. On my 740il, I have to replace brakes every 12k miles. It gets very expensive!

Normal...the front brakes do about 60% to 70% of the work...one way to make them last longer is to interval brake when slowing from higher speeds; cool brakes last loner...and around town use Shiftronic to take off some of the load.

Not only is it bad on your brakes, but I get HORRIBLE gas mileage here in the city... Stoopid hills!!

Yep - the hills in SF will surely do that!
