There's DIY's out there recommending dash removal to get the center console out? Wow.

It's a PITA, but nowhere near that bad.

This is true. The center console is a pain, it will take time, but unlike most of the DIYs out there, you DO NOT have to remove the dash to take the console out. It just take a little finesse.

Wait a minute now I was not suggesting that you have to remove the dash to get the console out. My dash was removed to access the evaporator. You do have to remove the console to get the dash and related components out to access the evaporator. Since the console had to come out then this would be the best time to change over the wood rather than take it out a second time to change over the wood.

Then those folks that are suggesting this are not that efficient. My console came out with no problems with the dash in place. part of the key is to lift the back to clear the front from under the dash.

Lets also be honest about some of the DIY procedures that are out there. As with anything you have to do your homework and discern good DIY procedures from the bad ones. Some of these people on you tube that have DIY videos, you can tell they just want to hear them self talk (because they ramble forever before they actually do anything) and want to have an audience when no one else will. The beauty of social media.

Did you sell your poplar interior pieces yet? Interested. How much?

For the center console you need to follow the DIY at the Tips and Tricks at top of the forum to a T step by step - I did and although tedious it came out and went back in just fine, I didn't unscrew or disconnect anything I didn't need to either
