Flashing LED at Headlamp Switch 2004 X5

Twice now I have noticed the LED on the headlight switch flashing when switch is to the (auto) far left setting...turning the ignition off, then restarting the vehicle makes it go off....? Did I miss a page in the owner's manual?

 I'll pay attention to it tomorrow

If you have Xenon adaptive headlights with auto-leveling then this indication is telling you they are not working correctly. (Not moving).

I don't think I have this LED on my headlight switch - I have a 2004 3.0i, by the way with Xenon auto-leveling (non-adaptive). Anyone else have this tiny LED on their 2004+ 3.0?

Thanks for the feedback...I do have ADX lights, and they appear to be swiveling properly...they also "fire up", raise slightly, then dip, just as always, on start-up....but, of course tonight, no flashing LED, just a steady green. I have a 5/04 build, I believe.

yip it's for the adaptive headlight it flashes if not working correctly or a bulb is out. I had it flashing on my 1 series for 8 weeks until BMW could figure out what the problem was.:(

Same here, build 04. Did you find out the problem? Mine has started flashing... :(

It means you are have some sort of issue with the adaptive portion of the headlights. Are yours also functioning correctly?
