Yep...only buy and install what I need to carry. No sense carrying around extra weight :D

Good choice - you won't be disappointed. Funny thing is that I was also all set to buy the T2 a few years ago - almost pulled the trigger on the T2 until I learned about the 1UP from my office mate. The 1UP sit solidly on the hitch - no vibration or rattle whatsoever.

Are you running the 1 1/4 variant with the adapter.
This seems like the smart way to go, as it affords one mobility to swap should it even needed to go on a hitch that was smaller than 2".

I'm concerned about wobble....but the reality is, we're probably talking single bike for a good while until I get the wifey or the munchkin *who's still on a balance bike* to graduate to a bigger bike. So load weight, I'm good all around

I use a screw hitch pin which tighten the bicycle rack against the receiver of the tow hitch. Most of the wobble is gone with that arrangement. There is still a little wobble but nothing compared to a regular hitch pin.
