It's is probably the airbag control module located at the back of the center console. You will need to replace the module or send it in to get it repair.

If you do decides to replace it you will need to get a module that is close in term of production date.

The issue was the SZL. I changed it and now it works fine

Steering Angle Sensor.... but how that affects the SRS system is anyone's guess! :dunno:

You need to brush up on your German.

Switch = Schalter
Centre = Zentrum
Steering Column = Lenksaulen

It's not the steering angle sensor, it's the switch center steering column.

And just what is this "switch centre steeing column"? I (possibly incorrectly) read that a "switch centre steering column" is a device for detecting when the steering column is centered. Or at any other (non-centered) position.

Sounded like the steering angle sensor to me. ;)

I still don't get the connection to the SRS system. ABS/DSC, sure. But SRS?

*edit* Turns out my German is fine but my interpretation is off! :D

The SZL module is the large switch assembly at the top of the stearing colum containing many of the connections the run up to the steering wheel - makes sense. And now the connection to the SRS is clear. Or in the case of this fault, why there is no connection.....
