e53 custom headlight question
Hi guys,
has anyone fitted a pre facelift e53 with the horseshoe style angel eyes and installed a projector into the main beam. i have got my hands on a set of damaged pre facelift lights off a friends write off x5. Don't have much too lose so will try it anyway in the next month or so, but just wondered if anyone has tried something similar? |
just to add.
the plan is to open the headlight, paint all the inside black find a way to install the slightly smaller angel eyes ( might fit them onto the projector them selves) and then install the second projector. |

There have been many that have 'updated' their headlights. There are several how to threads that should come up in a search. Search "install angel eyes".
Headlights made, if I recall correctly, prior to mid 2002 can be baked open. Those mfg. beyond then are permanently sealed. That said, I had one of each and was successful opening the one permanently sealed. I wouldn't do it again. My guess is that the majority of owners that upgrade headlights purchase new headlights such as those from Depo. Doing the upgrade takes considerable time and patience but it is not difficult. I wired my angel eyes so they come on when the doors are unlocked or opened. ignition on and in all headlights on positions. |
