transmission oil guide
can someone wget or copy this page into our transmissions guide?
http://www.autoshoppingcenter.com/tr...Moilguide.html There are 6 different Automatic transmssion models on the X5. Look at the label on the transmission to determine which oil you need. we use ESSO LT71141, SHELL LA 2634, Texaco ETL 7045 or Texaco ETL 8072B. in most cases, its the LT71141 (BMW part no: 8 322 940 7807) and you can use the alternatives from: =>Audi Oil No. G 052 162A1 =>BMW Oil No. 8 322 940 7807 =>Citroen Oil No. Z 000 169 756 =>Jaguar Oil No. JLM 20238 =>Mercedes Benz Oil No. A 001 989 2203 =>Peugot Oil No. Z 000 169 756 =>Porsche Oil No. 999 917 547 00 probably the cheapest alternative will be from the VW/AUDI store at about ~$10 a bottle. BMW no longer sells this by the bottle, but rather by the barrel and there is a hazmat shipping issue so they rather not ship it (at least with my local dealer that is the case). If you are looking to use REDLINE, AMSOIL, ROYAL PURPLE, etc.. make sure they are compatible with the oil that you have in your tranny (most likely the ESSO LT71141) |
