Leaky PS Res.

Without me looking at records, I probabl. replaced my PS reser about 2 years ago, if memory recalls.

Pulled the cap/stick - level looks good.

I'm def. gettting some fluid coming out as when I pressurewashed the engine yesterday, it was buildup of fluid/dirt stick on top part of the ~bulge~ where the halves meet.

Figured missing gasket, but it's there. And since day 1 of ownership, if I remember this right, the PS is always a smigen leaky....no matter

I think its the vent hole at the top of the res on the cap if anything - theres always some "ATF mist" around the area IIRC -

Some guys I remember had put a piece of a cotton ball in the "vent hole" in order to avoid that -

I have tried the cotton ball vent trick.
I didn't get stellar results from that either.
Seems to be a light misting always.

I had a persistently sweaty PS res changed the cap gasket and still had the issue. I ended up replacing with a new "OEM" ZF brand and the problem is solved.

I have similar issue but level of fluid is not affected much to warrant replacement

How is the condition of the cap o-ring? After inspecting mine I found it present but compressed too far to seal effectively. To the point I was questioning if it was part of the cap's plastic. A few bucks later and voila- clean reservoir.

Basically the same story for me, although I'm not sure it was ZF brand. Just a new one, probably bought at RM European since that's where I get most of my stuff.

Yes vent hole is going to mist a little. Nothing you can do about this except occasionally wipe off and keep clean.

I have the same problem with mine being leaky too. I would like to know where/which replacement part is the best.

Next time I order parts I'm going to get a new cap and try to put some plastic mesh (like cleaning pad) into the center tube that goes up to the vent.
