Bluetooth or wifi OBDII adapter.

Anyone using one? If so what are you thoughts on it? I want to get one to be able to monitor real time data on my phone/tablet as well as clearing codes. Like today my radio went mute. Gps still works, screen works but I get nothing from radio and dsp is no longer accessible in the menu. So anyways let me know which ones have been good to you.

I have a cheap ELM327 BT adapter that works with my phone but it only has very basic data and cannot clear codes etc.

I don't think I've heard of or seen a BT adapter than has much more than the very basics, at least on a BMW.

If you are using an Android device - then get Bluetooth adapter. It works great with the Torque app. For the Apple users - WiFi is the only option since apple Bluetooth does not supports serial protocol. I am personally using cheap WiFi adapter with iPhone and premium version of OBDCarDoctor app. yes. You can access some of the live data on BMW and clear codes. Good basic tool for quick diagnostic of common, non BMW specific problems.

Thank you for the feedback I'll be looking into wifi reader since I'm an iPhone user. My radio issue healed itself today must of been just a glitch.

You people need to stop drinking the Apple Cider. A cheap android tablet or a cheap android smartphone with bluetooth will make a great diagnostic tool. You can use Torque Pro or OBD Fusion to view live data and reset most emission related codes. You don't even need to activate a cheap android phone to use the apps.

The app Icarly will allow you to look at more BMW specific modules, but with that comes the restriction that you must purchase a Bluetooth or WiFi adapter from Icarly.

If you really want to see all the modules in your car, get INPA or BMW Scanner 1.4. for your window based PC. Stop drinking the Apple Cider.

Actually, UAN, that's exactly what I do with my ELM327 BT adapter and my Android phone with OBD Fusion. It stays in the glovebox, ready for those "oh gosh" moments out on the road. Not that I've had any but it pays to be prepared. :D

I use INPA in the workshop - and I need to get up to speed with DIS, as I need to change my XDrive unicorn juice...

That is a sign of failing channels in your radio amp.
