Ever wondered what an X looks like with about a meter of snow on it??

fangbosun 01-27-2006 04:50 AM

Great Pics, did you get it out OK???

Hoopie 01-27-2006 08:16 AM

Great pics !!! Damn, that's a lot of snow Keith. So how's the snowboarding ??

broknlgs24 01-27-2006 09:08 AM

holy crap! pardon the ignorance, but
does Italy usually get that kind of snow?

SILENTx5 01-27-2006 11:14 AM

:wow: that's a lot of snow!! That's more snow than we've seen here all winter.

statdoc 01-27-2006 11:23 AM

Wow!! That is some serious snow!

NOC 01-27-2006 11:48 AM

I think Italy is getting all the snow we were supposed to get here in New England.
With all that snow it seems like there is not much to do but go skiing...

ChristopherM3 01-27-2006 01:22 PM

Wow...........that snow turned it into a BMW Cargo van looking thing.............

Hoopie 01-27-2006 01:53 PM

They tell me that it hasn't snowed like this since 1985. The snowboarding has been great up to now, should only get better. Lucky for me I didn't have to work today, or I would have been late. For sure.

jaaX3 01-27-2006 02:22 PM

I love snow, but that is overdoing it

rayxi 01-27-2006 02:33 PM

Powder! Looks like the nice fluffy stuff too!

Quicksilver 01-27-2006 03:13 PM

Brrrrrrrrrrrrr

Hoopie 01-27-2006 03:14 PM

It really is great fluffy stuff. Pretty easy to shovel. But shoveling for about 4 hours today. Since I didn't go to the gym, I guess I can't complain.

bingw325 01-27-2006 04:11 PM

Unbalibabol !! What's the read in your temp gauge inside the X ? -0:tsk:

Hoopie 01-27-2006 04:48 PM

The temp this afternoon was +0.5 C. Yesterday it was at -4.0C. Not really cold. I'm told that it doesn't usually snow when it is really cold. Is this true?? Can it be really cold and snow? Maybe in the Italian Dolomites it doesn't get really cold when it snows. I don't know I'm an AZ boy. What do I know.

So...how do the defrosters work? Cortina must be cranking!

Hoopie 01-28-2006 02:51 AM

Cortina di Ampezio I'm sure it is cranking if you can get to it. From my house (and I live near Trento) would take me about 3 hours to get there. I've tried one summer and decided to turn back mid way. The wifey was getting bored.
Defrosters work great. Now that I have dedicated 18" with Pirelli Scorpions the X is a beast in the snow. Nothing slows it down.

daphne 01-28-2006 10:39 AM

snow

Wow, I wish we'd get snow like that here!!!...But I'd croak if my X5 were parked in it. (Mine is pampered and parked in my warm cozy garage.)

Do we have another female member in the house? I have family in Johnson City Tennessee btw  :xoutpost:

The title to this thread had me rolling! Nice work on the shoveling and safe driving to you. Next time go for the Fro-hawk, they seem to be the popular "do" in the sports world.

X5Ghost 01-28-2006 01:09 PM

It would be funny if he drove around with the SnowFro

SyndicateGt 01-28-2006 04:49 PM

Or it would be funny if he took some colored water and made a giant snow cone :fight:

Thus far the roads here have been ice-free and we've had no snow at all...intersting to hear about the Scorpions; I've always heard the X was a pig in the snow, so it must be the shoes...I believe my wife and I may have been through Trento after tunnelling through Austria on a car train en-route to Venice...great stretch of Autostrada if I recall..

Hoopie 01-29-2006 03:15 AM

Wonderful stretch of Autostrada (22). Today I will be going to Venice Marco Polo Airport to pick up my wife. She stayed a few extra weeks in AZ, I came back to work. Will she be suprized at the amount of snow that fell. About 4 feet when it was all said and done. It snowed about 48 hours straight. Can't go boarding until next week. As for the Fro-Hawk, Great Idea!! I'll take pics of a purple Fro-Hawk if it snows again like this. It'll be easy to do.

And AZ is going on what, Day 103 with no rain? Where do yo go boarding?

ricky.agrawal 01-29-2006 11:37 PM

I wish it snowed often like that in Sugar Land! :(

Hoopie 01-30-2006 01:41 AM

I go boarding only in Italy, where I live now. I moved here 3 years ago. Folgaria is where I go boarding mostly. But I also go all over when I feel like it. Next weekend should be great.
