Service engine soon - P1191 too rich
 

First code was valve tank ventilation a month back. Bought a non OEM valve (the one in engine) Code stayed off assumed it was fixed. Went ahead and did 4 new Bosh Oxygen Sensors because I was due for them.
Soon after service light back- code P0444, purge valve again AND Oxygen sensor too rich before cat. bank 2.
I did the test the computer told me to do on the valve - it did not "clock" or click as the test should - no brainer, I screwed up not getting OEM valve. Bought OEM valve. soon after service light again, same codes, purge valve and Oxygen sensor too rich. New valve tests out good with the clocking/clicks. Oxygen sensor tests out OK also.
most recent service light showed only too rich oxygen sensor pre cat.
Is one of my new Bosh Oxygen sensors bad?
HELP - anyone been through this before??
I have reseated all elec connectors at the valve and O2 sensors as well as the valve hose. I do not see any leaks in intake line or vac. lines.

Check your gas cap for the purge valve code; it needs to seal. Also check the lines to/from the valve.

And double check for airleaks on the O2 sensor code. How old is your MAF?

my MAF is original to the car, 190k. But I regularly spray clean it.
Gas cap is also original, seems OK, O ring still in place - from reading thought you get "fuel leak" codes from bad gas cap?? Just thought maybe to try laying a piece of plastic then capping the gas tank as a "test".

I have the typical crack in the small accordian elbow bend of the intake air which i taped up with electrical tape a while back (still intact and holding). I never got a code from that crack just the typical whistle sound.
I have contacted where I bought the o2 sensor, they say Bosh has 1 year warrantee but tell me they are very rarely defective.

Yes; you can get evap codes from a loose/non-sealing gas cap. The fuel evaporative loss system needs to be sealed to work properly. If it doesn't seal, you'll likely get a code. If, after driving a bit, you don't hear a faint hiss when removing the gas cap, the seal may not be sealing.

However... P0444 points to an electrical issue with the solenoid; I would double check the electrical connection to the evap/purge valve. You should also hear it click/thunk about 2 seconds after you shut the engine off.

Don't even want to venture a guess on the O2 issue; if it were mine, I'd replace the leaking intake boot and go from there.

Everyone said - its probably NOT the Oxygen sensor and they were right.
Replaced the pre and post sensors (under Bosh 1 year warrantee) and still getting error P1191 - too rich upstream Oxygen sensor bank 2.

If my problem was the MAF or a leak in Vac or air wouldn't it be too rich in both banks??
Going to switch the fuel injectors between banks and see if that changes the error code and maybe I have a loose/leaky injector??

NOPE, same code - bank 2, thus I will assume its not an injector as 4-5-6 is now 1-2-3
