Hood Unlocked Warning

All the doors and the trunk lid cause a warning to display on the dash when not fully closed. But I noticed the other day, that if the hood is not fully latched, I get no warning.

Is this standard operation, or a problem I have to track down?

There is no HOOD UNLOCKED warning.

But the hood does have a two lock system...1st line of defense is the interior hood release...the 2nd line of defense is the exterior latch between the front grills.

Thanks Hg7,

As usual, you are a great font of knowledge.

I was curious. It seems incongruous to me that all the other "doors" have a warning yet the one that can cause the most damage if not properly closed does not.

But...let's not forget that the hood does have a DWA (anti-theft alarm siren system) sensor....just not a warning from the Check Control system that appears in the cluster's 20 digit alpha/numeric display.
