2006 X5 E53 4.4 Trifecta problems
Hello all,
I've done the required reading through the Trifecta threads, especially BlueBee et al. I have found two roadblocks to successful trifecta diagnosis/repair. Firstly, I cannot find a proper pin-out for the 2006 X5 ABS wiring which allows rule-out of the wheel-speed sensors. BlueBee has an E39, and there was another individual in the mountain of threads with a 2004 X5, but neither of their pinouts are the same as my vehicle. I can tell because there are a couple of pins in the connector which are un-used, and the location of the un-used pins does not match anyone elses pinout. Because rebuilding the ABS module is relatively inexpensive (~$150) if it needs it, I removed the ABS module which is a huge pain, but have not been able to find a company which will rebuild it, as with the earlier years. My BOSCH Part number is 0 265 950 351. And is identified on the top with 3451 6773012-01 No one I've called/emailed has said they're able to diagnose/repair this module. So I am stuck. I cannot rule out the wheel speed sensors for resistance etc without the pinout, and I cannot blindly send in the ABS module with hopes that this resolves it. Halp? |

I've read a little about the transfer case gear issue, and a notable symptom seems to be a clicking noise from the transfer case actuator, which is not present for me. At this point, it seems as though removal and inspection of the actuator to rule it out will be easier than finding a proper pinout for the ABS module harness to rule out wheel speed sensors first. If your sig is current, I'm actually in Neenah, WI - awesome! |
OK, wasn't aware of the additional clicking symptom but the trifecta of lights for the xfer case motor gear being stripped does apparently trigger that same trifecta of lights.
Seems like this would be an easy thing to rule out then on to items B and C if necessary. Yes, I'm up in Appleton sometimes but am not there now. Hope you get the problem solved. Mike |
