Xenon cutoff plate removal
Hello my friends, i am changing the angel eyes in my 2002 x5, if i take off the cutoff shied in the xenon, the illumination go to be better??
|
No illumination will not be better. Xenon (or HID) lights need that cutoff. It is what keeps from blinding other drivers on the road.

Please put them back on - its actually worse than high beams all the time as the high beams only shifts the cutoff shield down slightly, doesnt remove it completely -
But since you obviously don't give a shit about other people on the road considering that you did it already even after multiple people told you its dangerous then do whatever you want |
I go to open it again maybe in a month to dip some parts in carbon, i put it again in that moment
|
Or just do it now because oncoming drivers won't be able to see shit, increasing the probability of having an accident.

Not to mention having red lights in the front of the vehicle will increase the chances of a head-on collision if someone else cannot tell which direction you are travelling. They assume red is the rear of the vehicle not the front. This could be a major liability issue. Better check with your insurance company!
From Connecticut DMV: What are the allowable colors for my after market lighting? Any light visible from a motor vehicle should be the following: - Any light visible from the front of the vehicle shall be white, yellow or amber. - Any light visible from the forward most edge of the rear tire of the vehicle to the front of the vehicle shall be amber or yellow. - Any light visible from the forward most edge of the rear tire of the vehicle to the rear of the vehicle shall be red. - Any light visible from the rear of the vehicle shall be red or amber. |

OMG. Take out those awful, illegal, and confusing red angles. They also look terrible on top of everything else. Put the cut off back on and remove those, stat. White, yellow, amber, maybe a veey light blue that blends in with white so you can't really say, "Hey, that's blue" but more, "those white lights have a blue tint) I'm talking about like 6000k-8000k hid white/blue, nothing more.
Come on though, you're gonna cause a wreck. |
The Angel eyes change color so i can change it, red are just for testing, and Bobby, at the time that all of you answer my questions i was finish with the head light, they was glued back, and dont worry because i dont use to much the X, but you have a point, here is a shit hole, is the true.
