4.6is 06/2002 Bluetooth Adapter?

I know this question has been asked (and answered) many times, but after spending some time searching, I haven't found a conclusive answer for my specific car.

I have an '02 X5 4.6is (build date 06/2002) with the widescreen nav head unit and an OEM MKIV nav computer. I've been using a cassette adapter with my iPhone 6 for music, audiobooks, podcasts, etc and while i hated having a loose wire running down the console, it worked.

Yesterday my employer put me on their corporate phone program which included an "upgrade" to an iPhone 7. I would have preferred to have kept my old 6 and received a stipend, but part of the deal is that I had to switch to Verizon and my old phone was on AT&T. One of the "features" of the iPhone 7 is the removal of the headphone jack. So to use it with my cassette adapter, I will also need to use a Lightning-Port-to-headphone adapter. That's a lot of adapters to keep track of!

So, I'm looking for a bluetooth solution that I can permanently connect to the stock audio system and forget about all the wires and adapters. Everything I've seen so far that is compatible with the E53 is for 09/2002 and newer. Does anyone know of a system that can work with what I have?

Are you sure this isn't discussed/covered in the Bluetooth forum? Here's a direct link...it's probably covered in the first post...if not...I'm sure someone has asked the same question in that forum. More than likely (off the top of my head based from previous posts on this topic)...you just need to install the correct generation TCU (instead of ULF) Bluetooth unit: Bluetooth - Xoutpost.com

Jeez, how did I miss that?! Actually, I know how. I never look at the audio or electronics forums! ;)

Can also get bluetooth and more with Mediabidge. Have had since introduction and with Sirius module. Works great.

Thanks for the tip on GROM. I wasn't familiar with that solution - looks very promising!
