The only thing I worry about the "brand new extended" driveshaft is I wonder if it's made here in the USA or is a Chinese made shaft. I guess you could ask Cobra -

Either way when the day comes for me to do my Tcase chain, I'll be doing new flex discs, and center support bearing along with a new driveshaft (preferably extended) preventatively so it doesn't have to be done more than once.

When the time comes to order it I'll ask them where it's made and whether it's a rebuilt driveshaft or a brand new driveshaft. I'll also ask about the warranty that it comes with. In theory as long as it's built properly and balanced it shouldn't be an issue, especially since the front shaft is much simpler and does less work than the rear shaft.

My list of things to replace when I do this job is as follows: driveshaft, front flex disc, rear flex disc, transfer case chain, transfer case needle bearings, transfer case seals (if needed), and the transfer case support bushing/mount.

Tonight I'm going to check and see if my transfer case front output splines are okay, because that'll determine whether I need to replace the transfer case or not. If the splines are severely damaged then it'll be better to just buy a 100k mile transfer case on eBay and rebuild that, because a new front output shaft costs about $400 which is what a used transfer case costs.

If you're replacing your chain (which I'd recommend), you may as well replace the tcase seals and the female splines. It's cheap insurance since you're already in there.

I do plan to replace the chain, since they're known for stretching with usage. At 214k miles on the original transfer case the chain is probably super sloppy and loose. I also plan to do the seals while I have it all open, even though mine aren't leaking at all. I'm going to check on the condition of the front output spline tonight, and if it's damaged like the driveshaft splines are then I'll replace that part. The new front output splines are about $400, not exactly cheap haha. There's no point in buying a used one since all of the transfer cases have this issue eventually.
