Strange Voice Command

2 quick questions:
Out of curiouity, is the voice command male or female. I was reading a post on another board, and the author mentioned "she" when talking about his voice command voice. Mine is a male voice.

More importantly: my voice command does not control the NAV functions, only the bluetooth dialing. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Mine is a female voice and is a function provided by the Visteon Bluetooth ULF. It controls both the nav and the bluetooth phone.

If you have a Motorola Bluetooth ULF (2005+), it only controls the phone.

My 2005 is a male voice. I would prefer a female.;pervert;

I have both in there and they sometimes fight with each other. I bought the voice activation module for my 2005, then my telephone module failed and was replaced by a new one - now a male voice has been introduced to my cabin. He's an idiot, though. Always says he's sorry.

Does she sound really hot? Or old and ugly?

LOL! I think she sounds really luke-warm, 40ish, and seems to have a bit of an attitude, especially when she says "are you sure?"...:)

Sounds like the woman for me! I might need to get her number.

Seriously, does anyone know if the male/female voice is a dealer-programmable option?

MY '05 has the standard bluetooth VA with the male voice that only works for phone functions... and you're right - he is an idiot. Always saying he's sorry, and failing to understand phonebook commands!! (He does OK with dialing stored numbers, and dialing by number, but whenever I try to add a new number to my directory, it often times takes him 5+ trys to even understand the "Add Name" command...)
Does that optional VA module cover phone functions too? If so, is it possible to just remove the stock male-voice VA? I was thinking about getting one so that I could have the Nav/notebook functions, but I had heard about the male / female VA's fighting before...

Don't know about the programming, but the female seems to understand commands very well. I can't imagine that really has anything to do with the voice though...

When my '05 telephone module went dead (symptom: red light on top right of NAV, instead of green), my service tech said the new one they shipped him was a male. And, I needed to put the loopback adapter back on my module if I didn't want the new male to interject and interrupt (typical) with the female responses. I think it's kind of comical at the moment. I'm sure it will wear off and I'll re-plug the loopback wire I removed when I installed my NAV voice activation.

Do they ever have a conversation all on their own?? I could just imagine it...

"Say a command"
"Sorry?"
"Repeat the command"
"Sorry?"
"System off"

My '05 has a man for the BT phone functions, and a (British) woman for NAV.
