Rubber molding above windshield question?

1 Attachment(s)
Hi,

The rubber molding around my windshield seems to be deteriorating, how would I go about fixing it? Would I need to go to an auto glass professional?

I had mine replaced at the stealer.... but I guess you can buy it and replace yourself

Part is about $18 IIRC from the dealer - took me about an hour to R&R - there is a good writeup thread somewhere on this forum about it - take your time -

Thanks for the reply. Do you know the part number?

Here is a You tube of how to replace. If you search you tube you will find others.

Mine was replaced as part of a cracked windshield replacement (included in price and replacement) by a mobile guy here locally. You could wait until you need a windshield replacement, but yours is pretty bad.

Do it yourself, it's pretty easy. Getting the piece out is a piece of cake. If you get stuck putting the new one in (you probably won't) then take it to someone.

Be sure to take it slow and use plastic tools if you have them.
