Coming Soon: '06 E53 4.8is For Sale

Sales preview: I'm planning to pull the trigger and list my 06 for sale in the next week or so.

It's been a great vehicle, I love driving this X5. It is in very good shape mechanically and both inside and out.

I've got a few too many vehicles at present and just picked up a '11 535 which I'm also going to sell.

From the sale of these two I'll make room for something newer, with even more power and features.

107k miles, 06 X5 is Sapphire black with black interior. The 4.8is' come fully loaded with only a few options, which I have including the heated steering wheel as well as rear seat DVD entertainment (monitors are in the back side of front seat headrests).

I also have an extra set of wheels (RF2 – Rohana Wheels in silver) with Pirelli ice/snow (two sets, one with two seasons and one with three) (https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...n+Ice+%26+Snow) dedicated snow tires in OE size (275/315 20's) as well as stock wheels and Michelin (Michelin Latitude diamaris Tires | Michelin USA) stock size summers.

Anyone that is really a buyer and interested I'll give you a shot at this before I list it for buyers on multiple sites to see.

I've been on this site for years and want to give E53 4.8is people on Xoutpost people an opportunity at this great BMW.

I know what the vehicle is worth and I'm in absolutely no hurry to sell, I will hold out for the right price. I'm not interested in trying to give it away, will not take payments, won't offer it below what it is worth. It is not that kind of vehicle.

For those who follow the 4.8is it is a solid example, it makes all the right sounds and it still performs amazingly well.

For those who want to get a first BMW or first X5 or don't know much about cars etc, this is probably not the type of vehicle for you. There are a ton of X5's on the market.

Mine also has a bumper to bumper, $0 deductable aftermarket warranty from AUL with more than a year and more than 20k miles left on it - I don't think I'll transfer that unless someone pays me exactly what the refund is plus a transfer fee. This is the 2nd aftermarket warranty I've purchased and used, lots of repairs done between both. New transmission, new front air struts, window regulators, seals, various electronics, nav, head unit and more. I'll share the full list of items replaced under warranty.

It runs, sounds, drives, rides, turns, stops and looks amazing. But it is time for a bit of consolidation and some lucky person will get a great 4.8is.

Kelly Blue Book, KBB.com shows

Trade in range $4,988 - $7,807

Private Party Value $8,716.

Pretty amazing given the the MSRP was over $70k in 2006.

I don't think the extra wheels and tires make much difference on a trade but to someone who has snow (or just wants extra wheels and extra tires) it's convenient to have a mounted pair.

Lots of views, I've got feedback from a variety of folks, any from this forum?

Thanks

$8700 is cheaper than I expected. My 3.0 wasn't far off at 6700.

I figured these would be 10k..

Totally agree, a lot of vehicle for the price. At this pace, likely to just build a case to keep it with the level of or lack of interest here of all places where there's an educated group.

Maybe that's because everyone here already has one! ;)

It always amazes me how "solid" the car is when reading 100,000 miles and already needed transmission, struts, various electronics, head unit, and more....

Lol...

Please post your VIN and options list as well as any mods. One question is whether you have the sport interior or comfort seats?

If you've worked on cars (other than a Toyota appliance) much you'd know what I mean. I don't need to define solid for you, you already think it's funny you're proof it has different meanings to different people. An enthusiast or someone who works on cars professionally or as a hobby can easily see a car as solid if the major areas of concern have been addressed. Higher performance cars are amazing but require a different kind of owner, they are almost always more expensive to own but the trade off is worth it for many. AKA good bones and I'd stand behind anything I claim about my cars.

Whatcha working on or driving these days?

I didn't get the impression he felt your X5 wasn't in great shape. I believe he just found it ironic someone could characterize a vehicle as solid when it's had so much significant work done to it when it now has 107K miles.
