Valvetronic Levers Fix
I searched the archives, but couldn't find any detailed inforamtion about what exactly is required to fix this issue. Does the dealer actually replace the levers with new ones or do they do some adjustment?
Can someone comment on what parts the dealer ordered to fix this issue? A picture of the work order would do just fine. Thanks, FA |

Maybe i missed a previous post. but would you mind explaining what the problem your having is and how do you know it is the valvetronic levers that are the problem. Also what year and mileage is your X5. I am just not aware of any problems anyone is having with valvetronic. Also who told you it was a lever problem your having.
Thanks |
I have a 2005 X5 (10k miles) that idles rough. I had my engineand transmission software upgrade to resolve the "clunk" issue earlier.
Searching the archives, a few people had this problem and the dealer root caused the issue to a tolerance issue with the valvetronic levers. I am just wondering if they actually replace the levers or just do something to make the existing one work. The question I am asking, for those that have had this service done, what did they replace? All the parts should be listed on the service worksheet the dealer provide upon completion of the work. vinunero: Did you have this sevice done? if not, how do you know the dealer will fix this problem with new levers? |

I found that post in the archives that you mentioned and thats why I ask the question what was replaced? The thread doesn't mention what parts were replaced.

Get this...I was in for an oil change recently and an X5 rolled in right behind me sounding like a 70's GTO with a trick cam...wumpa, wumpa, wumpa...it actually sounded pretty cool but the owner was noooot happy...turned out he was about 3 quarts low on oil and the Valvetronic was was malfunctioning for lack of oil...
