Hello All
does anyone know if these OEM 21" RIMS fit the X5? I think they are 21X9 & 21X10...does anyone know for sure? if I need some sort of spacer how much does this cost?

ekaz 01-30-2006 01:50 AM

I can't find the thread, but I'm almost positive someone mounted these on an X, I'll post the thread if/when I find it.

carlos3679 01-30-2006 01:54 AM

Thanks, I am getting a pretty good deal and need to get back to someone ASAP

ekaz 01-30-2006 02:00 AM

The thread had the 19's from the 745. Do you know the offsets? 21" wheels shouldn't be the problem since people are putting 22's on the X.

off-topic but my mom has these rims on her car. They look big and are very/clean wheels. I should swap them to my X :)

Do you reckon she'd notice??? I swapped the wheels on my Alfa 147 and my wife took months before she noticed!!!

IF those oem 21" rims are off a 6 or 7 series they will fit your X5 but because they have a smaller offset ,the wheels will stick out of the bodywork slightly in the same as the 19"s that Ekaz has found! Therefore you will not be needing spacers!

carlos3679 01-30-2006 09:21 AM

where can I get details about these rims? offset and all that stuff.

Hi Carlos,
You must find out this information from whoever is selling you the wheels:rolleyes:

Get them to look up on the inside of the wheels.

DINANM3 01-30-2006 04:53 PM

If anyone installs these wheels please post pics and info on the install. I really like them alot

I sent him an e-mail and he has not replied, if I knew the info I would commit to buying them

My guess is that these 21" wheels have the same offset as the 7-series.
Carlos,I agree with you!DO NOT commit yourself before knowing more about the wheels.Once you know their width and offset,I can tell you exactly how they will stand on X5!

jaaX3 01-31-2006 12:21 PM

I'm looking into getting these rims for my X3, 19". I read in the BMW wheel catalog that the 21's are for/from the 7-series. I'll check my wheel catalog to see if they list the offsets.

Hi Carlos,
Have you heard from the guy who's got the 21"rims?
Meanwhile,I have been doing some research and have found that the 7-series 760Li uses these according to realoem.com data.
These are style 128 and as you said in your first post, these are 21x9 and 21x10.

The rear wheel has an offset of 25 which is ok and will fit your X5 nicely ,some 30mm further out than oem 19"s but still not flush with the body!

Now,the front has an offset of 20 and is more complicated! This wheel will stick out 33mm more than than 19" and even slightly more (2.6mm) than a oem 20".Still,I am looking at my front 20"s and they are into the body,so an extra 2.6mm will be fine.

I have done these calculations assuming that you will be fitting tyres which match closely the 19" oem rolling diametre.
The recommended tyres are 265/40 front and 305/35 rear.(just 0.8% over).

About $2400 for the 21"s and $1500 for the 19"s. That's not including tires. (bmwwheels.com)

carlos3679 01-31-2006 08:23 PM

Yes i want to know if these wheels fit and if i need to do anything like wheel spacers to make them fit better. I really want these wheels. Does anyone have a picture with them on an X5. Also what size tires would you use.

Are you getting these from a private party?

B-A-R 02-13-2006 06:44 PM

I found using that link in the post a few back, that the rears will be near stock, maybe in a bit, and using 245/35's in front will be the same a stock. Dont know if i'd want such a small tire up there, was thinking 255/35's and 295/30's for the back. 255's would protrude out the front about .5 of an inch. Would love to see pix of these on an X!

DINANM3 02-17-2006 12:30 AM

Has anyone put these wheels on an X5 yet. Or does anyone have these wheels at all. I really want to see these on an X5 because i want them really bad.
