Oil level warning light

I have a 2004 x5 3.0 with 80k miles on it. I have owned it for the last 4 months. Just noticed the other day that the oil level warning light does not light up when the ignition is turned on, like it is suppose to. I've searched for days on this topic and have not found anything about it not lighting up. All other lights on the dash work and light up properly. I know I can check my oil with the dipstick, but I like to have a little extra insurance. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Maybe the small little light bulb is burned.

From what i can find the bulbs are for back lighting, the warning lights and other smaller indicators are soldered LEDs. But I could be wrong.

It is unusual for the LED bulb to go out, but it is possible...
Remove the cluster and check...

check and disconnect connector oil sensor below oil pan.....this then should display error on your instrument cluster.
