Wing mirror auto tilt + nav system/stereo

Hi All

I've got a 2005 4.8is that I have a couple of things I'd like to clarify.

So it appears my auto "curb monitor" mirror doesn't quite work properly. I'm aware that you have to put the mirror selector to the drivers side to get this to work, so this is not user error. It appears that sometimes when I drop it into "R" the mirror will tilt downwards successfully, but then after I go into "D" it will not return to normal position. Other times it will move slightly but not all the way down. I thought the adjuster was broken so I manually adjusted the mirror and it all works great, but I can't wrap my head around why it won't work "automatically" putting it into R. I can see the mirror trying to move then after a few secs it gives up. What's the deal?

Second - I want to replace the nav system with a aftermarket stereo because the screen is super dim (wears out with age I guess) plus it doesn't have Bluetooth/Reversing camera etc. I have the navigation system in mine. What's all this about the "DSP" being more complicated to replace? How do you identify if you have such a system or not? There is a "DSP" in the menus, but no physical DSP button anywhere. I've changed out stereos before and its always been as simple as take out the old one, plug the new one in (with the correct harness of course) and off you go?

Thanks!

Well I'll just share my $.02. I replaced my screen with a new sharp screen ($178) and then I added the Grom bluetooh audio kit that plugs into the CD/AUX for $125. It works perfectly I can stream all of my music from my phone through pandora and can even use the steering wheel controls to advance the selection and answer/make calls. Does all I need it to do for less than changing out the audio/navigation system.

Do you have links to where you bought your screen and Grom bluetooth. Been looking for something less intrusive to replace my nav/radio head unit than an Eonon.
