New Thrust Arms, New Wheel Shake

Hey everyone, was hoping i could get some insight into a problem i am having. I have recently replaced my thrust arms in my 05 4.4. This tremendously improved a shake i was having in the steering. The car is a 1 owner (my dads) and i dont know when the last time the suspension/bushings have been replaced but im sure its been a while. Im having a new problem now a couple hundred miles later. The wheel has a slight shake when going into a turn at high speed, ie. on the highway.. Also today, i noticed the car seems to pull right at higher speeds. I dont believe the brakes or rotors are the culprit as the car brakes fine when driving straight. Im going to bring the car to my mech and have him diagnose the issue. Im thinking the problem may be related to the unchanged control arms. Anyway, wanted to share my symptoms and see if anyone can chime in.. Thanks again and have a happy 4th!

How many miles? High mileage? I replaced all of my suspension parts at about 185k to 190k miles. HUge difference. Only replacing one part of the system isn't going to do it IMHO if the truck has high mileage. especially a V8 that has more weight over the front suspension like my 3.0.

Okay, I had a very similar issue, 4 x Wheel Laser Alignment shows the wheels all aligned then it drove straight right up until about 55mph. Then started to drift left for me. At 80 mph (I know SPEEDING) it was vibrating.

What I can recommend, is walk around the back of the X5, lay flat on the ground and have a good look at the rear, check if anything looks like its sagging or worn out. MOST IMPORTANTLY, check the inside of the tyre tread depth if the inner part of the tyre is worn, you have rear suspension bush issues. If your X5 can not hold its camber correctly (Some wheel alignment places just say, 'oh its set to max!') which it might be, well then your rear rose bushings, drop links, rear swing arms are all potentials for replacement.

Mine was vibrating as bushes in left rear had totally gone, when you lift the car you need to take some weight from sub frame with a bottle jack then give the wheel a forceful shake, there should NOT be any wobble, if it does... I would replace all bushes, drop links, arms as I did, then get it aligned.

My is straight as an arrow now and no vibration any more... its a pleasure to drive it again! ;)

Hi guys!! Sorry for the delay.. long weekend. Anyway, I have diagnosed the pull as a leaking right tire. Will need to do further investigation regarding the steering shake.. haven't had a chance to drive the car on the freeway but will definitely do some testing soon. Thanks guys!
